BRIARWOOD is a family run business which we accomplish with little and big children, some with special needs, and others from hard places. We were interested in a purebred line that offered some of the same attributes of our beloved Doodles, and we think the Coton is the perfect fit.  The Coton De Tulear, similar to the Doodles, are loyal family dogs but enjoy a longer history of healthy breeding, and docile temperaments. Known as the Dog of Royals, the Coton de Tulear is one of the most family friendly pure bred dog lines. Originally from the shores of Madagascar, the Coton was long held as the highly desired dog breed by the countries ruling class.

Coton's have a long life span 0f 15-19 yrs old and have one of the healthiest lineage attributed to well guarded and responsible breeding. Coton's can occasionally have skin allergies, retinal atrophy, and luxating patella(knees). Coton's thrive with brushing tw0 to three times a week, weekly to bi- weekly washing, nail trimming and ear cleaning. Natural foods are always best but Coton's tolerate dry dog food just as well.

Coton de Tulear (pronounced "ko-tawn day too-lee-are") have great interactive characteristics that make them ideal for active families or persons entering retirement and looking for a companion who enjoys smelling the roses or rolling around in them on occasion. BRIARWOOD's Coton De Tulear's have been socialized and raised in our home with our family. Human imprinting from day one, which makes for an exceptional family dog.

Our Coton De Tulear puppies can join their new families at 10 weeks old
BRIARWOOD's Coton De Tulear's have been wormed at Bi-Weekly starting at 2 weeks of age.
BRIARWOOD's Coton De Tulear pups are administered their first 5-way vaccine at 8 weeks of age.

All families must sign an adoption contract agreeing to spay/neuter their BRIARWOOD Coton De Tulear pup and must agree to return the puppy/dog to the breeder, if they decide, in the future, that they cannot keep the puppy/dog.
