The BRIARWOOD Experience

From a customer named Sam:
A few notes about Emmanuel and the rest of the process:

-Extremely good at communication, he never went more than 24 hours without replying to an email. Helped move the process along.

-The family has a ton of kids and farm animals so Boomer was heavily socialized by the time we picked him up. He was totally desensitized to kids playing with him, touching his face and feet, etc. and already had been slightly crate trained by Emmanuel since we needed to wait a few extra weeks to pick Boomer up due to travel. (I believe it was $500/week of boarding/house training, but definitely can say this was probably the best part of the process).

-Pick up day was as smooth as can be. Emmanuel greeted us at the door to his home with Boomer in his arms and immediately left us alone with him for 15 minutes so we could have uninterrupted time when we met him. I’ll definitely never forget hanging out with the little guy for the first time!

-They have been breeders of numerous types of dogs throughout the years, so even though bernedoodles themselves are relatively new, they’ve had years of experience working on calm, controllable temperaments. Boomer is naturally extremely calm and doesn’t bark, whine, etc. much because of where he comes from. Obviously we’ve put a ton of work into obedience training but even without all that work, I’m confident that he’d be a great dog anyways. If you have kids or eventually want to have kids, this couldn’t be more of an ideal dog.

Would definitely highly recommend Emmanuel and his puppies.

Picture
11/28/20: Kim from New Jersey writes- "Today I visited Briarwood for the second time, as a dear friend adopted a new pup!  It was good to be back in that beautiful area.  Our Murphy joined our family in July of 2018 - he has been a joy and a love ever since, and is probably the best dog we’ve ever had.  We couldn’t love him any more... he’s grown to be about 65 lbs. and is the sweetest, most gentle guy.  He loves all other dogs, children, hiking and belly and ear scratches.  If you sit on the floor chances are he will sit on your lap with a big smile.  He sleeps on his back, and is truly a character.  He does not like squirrels ... loves to chase deer (but seems convinced they will come back and play with him).  We are grateful for him and Briarwood, for raising such beautiful pups in an environment that fosters the sweet gentle temperaments that are paramount qualities of their dogs. --Thank you so much, K & P

"I wanted to give you an update on how Rye (Tobago) is doing since we brought him home in August.(2020)  He has had two vet appointments that have both gone great, no issues at all.  He is a spunky little guy! He definitely lets us know what he wants which is mostly treats and snuggles. If we could hold him all of the time, he would be thrilled.
He is 98% potty trained and only has the occasional accident. He knows sit, lay down, paw, jump, leave it, and is doing better each day being on a leash for walks.  We just love him!!!"- K.B.

"TIP"-" He’s smart ... he loves to chew sticks and run around outside. He is very trainable (although our other dog does a better job of getting him to listen than we do:)) and he loves cuddling.  He is everything we were hoping for.

MINI- BERNEDOODLE

We began this journey 6 months ago...and it was well worth the wait. After our family decided on the mini-bernedoodle breed, I scoured the internet, looking for a breeder on the east coast. I was fortunate to have found the Briarwood website, which had everything I needed to know about the breed, their moms, dads, and puppies:
  • I appreciated the information provided in the FAQs and was happy about Briarwood's health guarantee and that they genetically test their parent dogs.
  • I really liked that the site was frequently updated with photos and videos of the puppies during their first few weeks. It provided a good idea of the puppies'appearance, temperament, and size.
  • From the videos, you could see the puppies were socialized with children early on, and the dogs and their parents seemed happy and well-cared for.

Emmanuel was super responsive, always providing us with information and timing about next steps, answering any questions I had. Pick-up day was super exciting; a highlight of our family's life together. Emmanuel provided us with lots of helpful information to get us started on caring for our mini-Bernedoodle pup.
Thank you Emmanuel and Briarwood! 9/26/19

I wanted to send you some photos as she is healthy, growing and so smart!  We have already gone through puppy kindergarten and good citizen canine classes to get her to a good start.  She is a very healthy and goofy girl and we have comment each day how makes us laugh.  She could play fetch all day everyday!"- M.P.

"Chapel Belle" Standard Sheepadoodle

"I just wanted to give you an update on our girl. She is such a joy! Today was her first real grooming and she looks so sweet. She is about 35 lbs and was 5 mos last week. She is house trained and loves play dates and the dog park. She is losing teeth now and I have found two on the floor. The vet said she is perfect and she had her last round of vaccines last month. My husband and I get a kick out of her having to jump in the tub for fresh tap water, or to splash."-- RJO

"SLEEPY"- (below) Mini Bernedoodle Pup from Costa Rica & Morrocco

Picture
2nd Update 7/10/20: Sleepy now named "Leroy" graduated from Level 5 Obedience today! He is just amazing. He now has crowd-stable sit, down, down-at-distance, place and heel. He reliably comes and heels off leash. 1st Update (Summer 2019): Sleepy is AMAZING!! He just got his second round of vaccines and a vet check. He is 13 pounds and healthy as a horse. No worms, no issues. He is also the sweetest dog I have ever raised and I have raised a few. Today we took him to my son's special needs school and he visited the kids. He was sweet and calm and the kids loved him. He sat calmly while they petted him and even laid down in the lap of a little girl with Downs. She was over the moon. His training is going very well. He can sit, stay and break. We're working on "down." I practice with him in the morning and the boys work obedience with him in the afternoons. He goes to work with me and I've included a picture of him hanging out calmly while I was on a conference call. We are probably going to want to get a second mini berner around the same time next year--end of summer--after our 3 week vacation. Sleepy is going to a board-and-train program for therapy dogs while we're on our summer vacation. It is a 3 week program. I think after that, we'll be ready to bring a new puppy/friend home so he will have playmate.

"Wanted to give you an update.  Walker has now passed his 2nd level of agility.  He is such a fast learner. People are always amazed at how well behaved he is.  Thank you for such a wonderful dog!"  H.E in Georgia

"COSMO"- Standard Bernedoodle

Picture
Happy New Year! Last we saw you was exactly a year ago picking up Cosmo. 1/1 He's been absolutely amazing !! He's truly my best buds. Temperament is wonderful and training him was a breeze...smartest dog I've ever had !! I've been asked by a dog trainer, I previously used, to participate in attending disability facilities. He mentioned out of all the dogs he trained, Cosmo was the first that came into his mind. So many stories I could share about how Cosmo has brought so much joy to so many people that I've met who's either very ill or handicapped. Needless to say, we are starting a therapy dog certification program next month so he's "official". I'm a proud Mommy of my boy. On another note,I've been considering a brother for Cosmo but would love to have another from Splash and Rocky. And would want to pursue the same activity of visiting hospitals etc. as a therapy dog. Do you anticipate a litter from Splash within the next year ? But I'm open to the following year as well. Wanted to reach out, say hello, thank you for my boy and wish your baby girl a happy first birthday ! Hopefully a puppy from Splash and Rocky will be in our future. Happy New Year wishes! --YB

"Seamus is doing fantastic.  We simply adore him.  He is 3 years old and we are now ready to give Seamus a brother. We can't imagine getting a puppy from anyone else, so please let us know when you next litter is, so we can get on the waitlist. Thank you!!"  -J.B. in Virginia

"OTIS", Micro Sheepadoodle
Born August 2020 to Malaysia and Morrocco

"When we started to think about adding another dog to our family, I did a lot of research, having three kids we needed a friendly family dog, after all the research I knew I wanted  a sheepadoodle, I mean look at them!!

When it came time to find the Breeder a lot of research went to it as well, it was important to me that they cared for their dogs and it wasn’t a puppy mill, I am so thankful we found Briarwood and Emmanuel, he was so helpful from the first time we reached out, he was so helpful with information about the process, and most importantly he cares so much for the well being of all these puppies.

We are so happy with our little Otis, he is a micro brown and white baby sheepadoodle that we got to bring home, he is our joy, so smart, so sweet, and so good with our kids,  the transition to the house was so easy because of how the process Emmanuel has in place works, after coming home he also checked on us very often and assisted with any questions we had, we are beyond thrilled with the whole experience.

Thank you so much Emmanuel for bringing so much joy to families life with these sweet puppies, thank you for being so helpful. We love Otis and he is the perfect little addition to our crazy family!" -Huff family

"LING-LING"- Standard Sheepadoodle

Picture
I wanted to let you know how much we love our puppy. We named her Ling Ling because she looks like a little panda bear. : ) Ling Ling was basically house broken from Day #1. I am fortunate enough to have a work-from-home job, so by taking her out every couple of hours, she has yet to have any accidents in the house. When I take her out, she does her business quickly ... she knows that is what she is supposed to do. She has the run of the house (with close supervision) for a while after she comes back in from being outside, and when we are not able to watch her closely she has graduated from her crate to being confined to the kitchen ... and we have had absolutely no problem or accidents. (If you don't consider her shreading paper from the reycle bin a problem!) Most importantly, the vet said she was parasite free and very healthy. She is affectionate and playful and smart. She already walks in a leash perfectly, and she will sit, come, and lie down on command. She seems to love us and we certainly love her. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful family member! Blessings, Georgia Riddle

"Hudson is a beautiful-gentle-loving-obedient( most of the time) precious pup. He brings so much love and joy and comfort to our lives. Whenever he is greeted by people they all comment on how handsome he is. He is so well socialized yet remains guardian to our front door.
Again, I want to thank you for your expert breeding and initiating early socialization which is so important, as I have learned.
Stay safe as you continue in your God given talent."- R.I.

"I own a doggy daycare in Montana, June, one of your puppies attend my doggy daycare.  She was the sweetest dog I had ever met, so I had to get my next puppy from your family.  Well, Judson has been amazing.  He is truly my right hand.  He has such a patient demeanor, helps keep the peace amongst dominant dogs that attend my doggy daycare.  Thank you for such an amazing dog.  He has stolen my heart and for that I am truly grateful!"  -- Karen

We wanted to give you an update on a Sheepadoodle puppy we got from you in July. It took a day or so to pick the right name for her, but we eventually named Sunny Wembley after Wembley Stadium in England. She is a 35 pound ball of fluff. She loves hiking, going for walks, the beach, kayaking, and playing with her friends. She likes going to high school soccer games and chasing soccer balls in the yard. She’s a hit at the high school and is known by name. She enjoys the outdoors when it’s not too hot, and hanging out on the back porch. She loves all the attention she gets from people, some even stop their cars to take pictures of her! She loves people and other dogs, and is super friendly. She passed puppy junior high and is going to be taking a basic obedience class this spring. Everyone thinks she looks like a panda bear! She hasn’t turned grey yet, but we are waiting to see what will happen. Her fur is still really soft and she’s almost 9 months old. She’s a sweet dog and we love her lots. We found that one of her littermates, Star, lives nearby, but we haven’t been able to get them together. A lot of people ask what breed she is and where we got her, and we always give them your name and location and recommend you. Attached are two photos. One of her in the recent blizzard we had and one of her with her friend Cassie at the beach over the summer. ---SB

"I just want to let you know that Apache is doing great!!!  We all are just smitten with him!  He went to the vet on Friday. The vet complimented him on his calm and friendly disposition!  This weekend he played outside a lot and even joined in a game of basketball with Micah and some of the neighborhood kids!  He sleeps well at night in his crate.  Overall he is adjusting quite well!!! "--DH

Just wanted to say thanks for our beautiful pup! We named her Nyla and the kids absolutely love her. She's such a good girl, even though she would rather chew my shoes than chew her toys. She is learning to sit, stay and come. She is also working on ringing the bell to go potty, today she did it three times and only had one accident in the house. I took her to the vet last Monday, no one had ever seen a Merle sheepadoodle; they thought she was beautiful! K&JL
