Visitation Policy
ONLY persons placing a deposit first are allowed visitation.
We recognize this is unacceptable to some potential customers and we respect your feelings and perspective. Please keep in mind this is our home. We are not a commercial business- as our work is home based where our family, pups and children, some of which have special needs, must be simultaneously cared and provided for. This is our first priority.
While our pups are raised in home, we welcome serious customers to visit puppies' parents and encourage puppy selection in person. (Again- Deposit must be submitted first) If you don't find a pup that is right for you during your visit or during the selection process, we allow you to pass your selection to the next litter without losing your spot on our waitlist.

The Important Reasons Behind Our Visitation Policy
Safety of the Pups:
1. Pups immune systems are very immature. Many unsuspecting visitors have brought disease (parvovirus, distemper, etc) with them when visiting pups, the result of which is the death of the entire litter. We know breeders that have lost entire litters to parvovirus brought in by visitors. Thankfully we have never had to deal with any of these very contagious diseases, and hopefully will never have to. 2. Stressed out Moms create stressed out pups. A new mother is emotionally charged and in hyper protective mode. When a stranger comes to visit, Mom becomes stressed causing her body creates cortisol, which goes into the milk. The puppies consume this cortisol rich milk and become stressed themselves. 3. I don't 'own' the pups. Once pups are reserved by a family I become the guardian- entrusted with the pups health and developmental needs during the last critical weeks of their lives before placement in their forever homes. When one of our pups becomes yours, the same standard will be upheld for your furry friend. |
Safety of my dogs and family
1. 15 yrs ago my wife was assaulted. This experience changed her life forever. A safe zone for my family is paramount, as persons who intend to harm others, don't always wear it across their forehead. In fact they sometimes offer a persuasive story, as to why they are looking for a new pup, and need to see every aspect of our facility to include our home, to "ensure" we are a reputable breeder.
2. Some of our children have trauma and loss backgrounds before joining our family. Whenever we have the opportunity to go out together, we are almost always stopped & peppered with questions such as, "Are all these kids yours?" "Are you a daycare?" "Which kids are your real kids?" "How can your mom be your real mom when she's a different color" and many more invasive questions. This is hard for children who are trying to attach and feel safe within family. So a place where they can function without the 'prying' questions that strangers many times have is important for their development and peace of mind.

3. You may have noticed by some of our other pages that we live on a self-made farm, which is not the same as visiting the pet store. While visiting pups and other exotic animals may be a fun way to spend a weekend afternoon with your family, it compromises the time I have with mine. Time spent with visitors is time not spent with my children, pups and dogs so each minute I spend with visitors is time away from the care for your pup. Trying to find that impossible balance requires that I direct my time to true and serious customers versus curious ones.

We hope you see this as a positive quality of a reputable breeder, who loves their family and animals dearly.
If you are not comfortable with our visitation policy, I encourage you to keep looking and find a breeder that you are comfortable with. We never pressure anyone to get a puppy from us. You need to be comfortable with us and we need to be comfortable with you.
You can view some of our past puppies and read references by clicking on our Testimonials tab here or on the top of the page. For those who just want to meet some doodles as they have not had the pleasure as of yet- google "doodle romps in your area"-most major cities have them.
Remember: We DO allow people to come and have a meet and greet with the puppies' parents and we do allow people to select their puppy in person. We just ask you to place a deposit first. If you come and visit, and we don't have the right match for you in that litter, then you can pass and wait to select a puppy from a future litter.
